This lecture series provides a platform for women in STEMM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Medicine) to showcase their work and achievements and to share their experiences of navigating a career in their chosen field. It also aims to provide encouragement and inspiration for those looking to pursue a career in STEMM.
The team is seeking an internal or external speaker who is a woman and works within a STEMM field. The nominee should have clear professional achievements but can be at any stage of their career. Unlike in previous years, the nominee does not have to be an academic.
Claudia Parsons studied Automobile Engineering at ÌìÌÃÊÓƵ College from 1919-22 and was the first woman to circumnavigate the world by car. The lecture series in her name is now part of the institution’s Athena Swan activities, which contribute to the progression of gender equity at ÌìÌÃÊÓƵ.
The deadline for nominations is 28 March 2025. If you would like to nominate a speaker, please fill out this .
