Faraday alumni reunite and relive their student days in halls
A group of former Faraday Hall students, who were freshers between 1994 and 2000, returned to campus in July for a special reunion weekend. Organised by Chris Mallaband (Management Sciences BSc, 2000), Mark Hobley (Accounting and Financial Management BSc, 2001) and Emma Cooper (Geography BSc, 1999), the event brought together 60 alumni to catch up, reminisce and revisit some familiar student haunts.

Ecologist and environmental specialist Sue Bell CEcol CEnv FCIEEM (Ecology BSc, 1985), has been awarded the highest honour from the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM).

Coaching New Zealand weightlifting team to success at Commonwealth Championships
An experienced figure in sport in New Zealand, alum Hugh Lawrence (Physical Education with Biology Certificate in Education, 1972) recently returned from a successful trip to Samoa, where he served as one of the coaches for the New Zealand Olympic Weightlifting Team at the Oceania Championships and Universal Cup. Having to deal with extremely hot temperatures, the team delivered six medal performance and Commonwealth Games qualifying totals.

Recent graduate Henry Brogan (Business, Economics and Finance BSc, 2025) co-founded BidScript in October 2023 with childhood friend Tyler McCarthy. The startup has now secured over $1 million in pre-seed funding.
